Basic Pie Crust

½ cup less 1 tablespoon solid shortening

3 tablespoons boiling water

1-teaspoon milk

1 ¼ cups sifted flour

½ teaspoon salt

In a bowl, beat shortening, water, and milk, until smooth and thick.  Add flour and salt; blend well.  Form into a ball and flatten to a 6-inch circle.  Between 2 sheets of lightly floured waxed paper, roll dough to a 12-inch circle.  Place in pie plate.  Bake in preheated 450-degree oven 15 minutes.
