Additional Quiz/Final Exam information:

Quizzes

All quizzes and the final exam are taken within WebCT. They are timed and the quizzes must be completed by 10:00 p.m. on the due date. The quizzes are open-book but definitely should not be attempted without studying the corresponding chapter. You will miss out on important information and will not do well on the closed-book, comprehensive final exam.

A computer crash or some other catastrophe could be considered an emergency. Give me a phone call, or if time allows, an email message so your quiz can be reset. Each quiz will be open for at least 1 week, so there will be plenty of time to take it by the due date. However, there is some variation in this, so check the class outline. It is inadvisable to wait until the very last minute to take a quiz.

The quizzes will cover information from the book. WebCT has reinforcement material which includes games, animations, and more. For the most part, you will not be tested on abbreviations.

Finally, it is your responsibility to check your quiz score within "My Grades". There have been an occasions when a quiz did not show that it had been graded. In the unlikely event this occurs, let me know.

Final Exam: This will be a closed-book exam held in Buckeye 4 on April 24, 2008, 5:30-8:35 p.m. You must bring a photo ID to this meeting.

Course date:

Thursday, January, 10, 2007 through Thursday, April 24, 2008

Location:

For the first class and the Final Exam, on campus in Buckeye 4. The remainder of the class is online.  The first class meeting is not necessary if you have previously had a class in WebCT.

Participation Standard

You must login to WebCT and take the practice quiz during the first week to secure your place in the class. This class is waitlisted so please do this as soon as possible or go online and drop it so someone else can have your place. If you have not taken the practice quiz during the first week, you will be dropped from the class unless prior arrangements are made.

Meeting time:

5:30-8:35 p.m. for the initial class session and the final exam.

Prerequisite: None
