For Thursday, September 1st:

-Read up to page 49 in Beowulf. I encourage you to read it aloud and move to it. Read to your kids, to your dog, to your mom. And I want you to do these things:

-Mark your YEEHAAs—which are those magnificent passages of poetry. It could be a word, a line, a section.

-I will assign each of you a section. For your section, do three things on a single sheet of paper: On top write a quote; below it, have some kind of visual that represents what’s happening; and at the bottom, a brief summary of what’s happening.

-Try—just try—to log onto WebCT from the college homepage. Find your way to this course and click “Responses to the Literature,” then click “compose message” and respond to the prompt I’ll have posted there.
