For Wednesday, March 16th:

Your stories: Read the three other stories in your group and come to class on Wednesday with comments for each of the writers.

Serendib:

    1. Mark your YEEEHAA sentences or words or similes and passages—if there are any—and comment on why one of them affects you.
    2. Do you notice anything in the front of the book that gets repeated in the end of the book—any scenes, any passages, any language?
    3. Write a list of all the gifts you can think of that get exchanged in this book.
    4. Free-write or free-draw for 10-15 minutes about your overall response to the book.
    5. Now that you’ve finished the book, is there a question you’d like to ask me?
    6. Do you think it’s a worthwhile thing to be reading this book? This is part of the larger question: Why do we humans even bother reading literature?

Essay: Today you’ll receive your essay #2. For next Monday, write your transcript and boo-boo page and brief response to what you’ve learned from this process. You’ll put this in your portfolio with …
