Ecology
4 units Recommended for Success: ENGL 1A and MATH 101 Lecture: 3 hours Laboratory: 3 hours Students will be introduced to environmental biology, which focuses on physiological, behavioral, and population ecology, and on linking ecological processes to evolution. Principles of evolution at the molecular, organismal, and population levels will be related to conservation issues affecting ecosystem management. The ecology component will cover basic principles and experimental approaches to solving ecological problems. Case studies in pollution issues, resource use, global warming, and ozone depletion will also be covered. Field trips may be required. Transfer: UC/CSU |
