SIGN 40B:	ASL: Intermediate Communication with the Deaf 3 units Prerequisite: SPCOM 40A with a grade of C, CR, P or better, or equivalent Lecture: 3 hours This is an intermediate course in American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Culture. ASL is the language used by culturally Deaf people in the United States. The class focus is on everyday conversations and situations. Emphasis in on both receptive and expressive skills.
