Introduction to the Theatre
3 units Lecture: 3 hours This course provides an introduction to the art of theatre, surveying the roles of the playwright, the director, the actor, the designers, the producer, the critics and the audience. This course investigates the variety of theatrical styles observed in contemporary theatre, compares live theatre with the electronic forms, and assesses the value of theatre in modern society. This course is designed to promote the student's greater understanding and enjoyment of the theatrical form. Field trips may be required. (MJC THETR 100) Transfer: UC/CSU (CAN DRAM 18) |
