Intermediate Piano
1.5 units Prerequisite: Music 41A with a grade of C, CR, P, or better, or equivalent Lecture: 1 hour Activity: 2 hours Continuation of the fundamentals of piano performance attained in Music 31A, 31B and 41A with more emphasis given to the adaptation of various techniques regarding style, touch, dynamics, and phrasing as they apply to different periods of piano literature. Opportunity to accompany instrumentalists and vocalists if offered as well as the performance of two-piano works. Theory will include all key signatures, scales, embellishments, diminished and augmented chords, and study of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods in Music.
