Literature
3 units Prerequisite: ENGL 1A with a grade of C, CR, P, or better or equivalent. Recommended for Success: ENGL 1B Lecture: 3 hours A study of American literature from the late nineteenth century to the present. Reading, analysis, and discussion of the major literary trends and authors of the time, including Twain, James, Crane, Frost, Eliot, and Faulkner as well as a diverse group of contemporary writers.
