Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education
(CARE)

CARE is a state-funded program that provides additional assistance for EOP&S students who are single parents of young children on CalWORKs and/or are receiving TANF (cash aid) for themselves or their children.

What services does CARE provide to qualified students?

• Child care assistance

• Assistance with required textbooks and academic materials

• Academic and participation incentive grants

• Meal vouchers

• Oil change vouchers

• Academic support resources and equipment

• Ca1WORKs Student Participation Manual

•  Academic / Career Workshops

• Career I Employment Seminar

• Additional Counseling Support

Who qualifies for CARE?

A CARE student must be....

• An EOP&S student who is 18 or older.

• Enrolled in 12 units or more as a new CARE student.

• A single parent and head of household.

• A parent of a child (or children) under the age of 14.

• A CalWORKs participant and/or receive TANF for self and/or children.
