| PHYCS 4A: | Introductory Physics I:
Trigonometry Level
4 units
Prerequisite: Math 8 or Math 17B with a grade of C, CR, P, or better or equivalent Lecture: 4 hours Laboratory: 2 hours A trigonometry-level introduction to the modeling of physical phenomena using Newtonian theory and its extensions. Topics include macroscopic force laws, linear and rotational dynamics, energy fluids, oscillations, waves, and thermal physics. This course requires the student to use the following college-level skills: algebra, trigonometry, abstract concept assimilation, and critical thinking. Field trips may be required.
