Advanced Welding Techniques
3 units Prerequisite: WT 100 with a grade of C, CR, P, or better or equivalent Lecture: 1 hour Laboratory: 6 hours This course covers arc welding in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions. Welding cast iron, carbon arc cutting, basic pipe welding, plasma cutting, metallurgy, hard facing technology is included. Special emphasis will be on control of heat and distortion and failure analysis. Students will prepare for A.W.S. welding certification. |
