Automotive Technology Advisory Board
|
|
|
Purpose
The Automotive Technology Program is partly funded from the
Vocational-Technical Education Act (VTEA). A mandate of VTEA funding is that the
program must conduct at least one advisory committee meeting per year. The
charge of this committee is to provide input for goals, planning, and
recommendations on equipment and curriculum. In general, the committee will help
ensure that the program is best suited to provide training for the students.
Additionally, the program is nationally certified by the National Automotive
Technician’s Education Foundation (NATEF). NATEF requires that two advisory
committee meetings per year be conducted. The committee serves to monitor
program compliance with NATEF. The advisory committee meetings typically take
place in the spring and fall.
Membership Structure
The committee membership is diverse. It is the goal of the committee to have the
following groups represented;
A member from the industry serves as the chair, and the program coordinator serves as the secretary.
