CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order at 3:18 pm by Joe Ryan.

1.    FIRE 2

Title:                      Fire Prevention Technology

Requisites:            FIRE 1

Effective Term:  Fall 2008

This course is generally not used for updating, but for transferring to a 4 year for a BA. The units would only be counted the first time or first time passing. This course will not be offered simultaneously as the on campus course. The content is basically the same, slightly more uniform. Joe D. needs to supply a modification form. Pg. 12 & 16 need to have “on-line” removed. Pg. 12 changed to 54 hours. Pg. 16 need to remove class project.

Requisites:            None

Effective Term:  Fall 2008

This course was previously CMPSC 29 and has now changed to 29A to allow for another advanced course Pg. 27, 28 & 38 need to change to “Performing in class tasks”. Need to add a new lecture/lab hour line with 1.5 and 1.5 added in.

4.       CMPSC 13

Title:                      Introduction to HTML

Pg. 45 Decided to stay with the course description verbiage currently in the catalog. Joe will cut and change. Also add “2A” and change to hours. Pg. 49 Inserting “Publish”. Pg. 46 Needs lab content.

  1. Articulated Transfer Degree

Dennis spoke to Stephanie and Carol. They suggested we offer our degrees and not others. The degrees can be as big as needed, just need to be focused. Jeff Fitzwater feels this degree is specific as it is customized and can be put in the student’s Ed Plan. This is not a new degree, it is just changing, Discussion: Many committee members feel that this degree, as written, is probably not compliant. Joe would like for it to be worked on over the next two weeks. Would like some data put together in regards to what degrees are most obtained by students and come up with a pristine one that could serve most of our student. Bring this back at the next meeting as an ACTION item.
